James Orford is 39 and has brain cancer.
This disease is indiscriminate but has afflicted one of the sweetest, most generous, honest souls known to us. A cruel hand to be dealt but one that James is tackling in his usual gritty, determined and calm manner. He is a fighter!
James has had to stop working, had his driving license revoked and is now focused on getting better.
The many friends he has looked after and supported all these years admire him and value him a great deal. Even though he doesn't like fuss and would never ask for help, we all want to contribute to making life a little less stressful for him while he concentrates on his treatment.
James is a former Laportes and Crosfields junior and Soap open age player who had a devastating turn of pace off the mark often bamboozling defenders with his famous 'windmill' dummy!
