The Under 7s had an early start with the trip to Chester, but with a very welcoming team and good weather it proved to be a great Mothers day out.
It began with Chester making the most of their first possession period going over to score, but the game remained tight and Crosfields displayed their determination by going try for try.
The defence grew through the game keeping chester out and forcing the turnover on several occasions.
Joe Harding's performance lead this resilient defensive effort with an inspirational defensive performance earning him the Tackle Champion award for the game. George Slann cemented his star player performance scoring his first competitive try. Robbie Tickle played an absolute stormer even when helping out Chester due to their lack of numbers. It was another outstanding all round performance from "Two Breakfasts Charlie Mather" with Finn Hammill getting stuck in at every opportunity. Charlotte Meredith, Ben Houghton, Alex Dowd, Mitch Ireland and Alistair Robson kept the centre of the field ticking over with some great team work to keep Chester out. The return of Connor Mahoney was welcomed by his teammates and his speed definitely came in handy to get us over the try line, the confidence and speed shown by Kerim Saglem will definitely make him one to watch for the future.
In addition to the fabulous Rugby, Team coach Phil Meredith was sporting some fabulous Headgear for Red Nose day and thanks to the parental donations from Chester and Crosfields for this, the agreement of team manager to donate £1 for each try scored and a cake sale, the grand Total raised for Comic Relief was £50.74.
