Young Robbie Tickle started us off with a usual Mazy run that bamboozled the Folly Defence to get the Soap on the board early. The cobras defense standing resolute in the first quarter of the game as further try's were run in by Alistair Robson putting his foot down, down the wing to beat a couple of cover tackles, Robbie Tickle again running on an Ark this time with some great footwork and then a barnstorming run by Josh Ackerley who ran very direct to bust the Folly defence and trot downfield to score the final points in quarter one.
Quarter 2 was all about the footwork and pace of Finn Hammill who scored a hatrick in this quarter alone. Finn's try was interspersed by a Score by Folly as the Crosfields defence was slow getting back and didn't move in, a momentary lapse that the young guys will learn from, fair play to Folly though who executed well to get through and put points on the board
With the score at 7 - 1 at half time, Crosfields where challenged to pass at least twice before they could score which slowed us a little whilst we adapted to what was being asked of us, simply to pass to the man in space rather than trying to bust through yourself.
Nathan Simpson put the first points on the board in the 3rd quarter charging onto a 2nd pass as requested, running into the space to get over for a try. Crosfields defence picked up in intensity in quarter 3 as well, ably led by Issac Worthington who had been given a goal to make at least 2 good leg tackles in the second half, he was well supported by Lucas McDonnell, Captain for the day Joseph Gough and Daniel Beaumont, Finn Hamill picked up his 4th and Crosfields 10th try again running onto a couple of passes to charge over.
In the final quarter Folly Lane were really starting to settle into the game and only good defence from Crosfields kept them at bay for long periods however they did go over for a couple of well worked try's to finish with 3 on the board.
In Truth, Crosfields where spotting the space now in attack but struggled to string the passes together or tried to throw miracle balls from one side of the pitch to the other missing out players and many passes were dropped as a consequence but the player had the space in front of them meaning we were making good decisions, the execution will come with more practice but the signs were good.
Josh Ackerley must of misheard that we were looking to pass into space and went on a second barnstorming run with some footwork on the line broke through and went over the try line for the second of his brace.
Alistair Robson was finding his feet delivering some very good unselfish passes to put other people away, it was one of these that put Robbie Tickle away for his 3rd try and back to back hatricks before Finn Hammill finished off the scoring with his 5th of the game.
Player of the day went to Alistair Robson predominantly for his passing game and Isaac worthington who surpassed his tackling goals earned himself the Top Tackler award.
