Woolston 4 - 12 Crosfields Cobras

A rainy Thursday night in Woolston saw arguably the best defensive display of the season.

1st Quarter
A first set shut out with Joe Gough flying into tackles set the stall for Crosfields. Finn opened the scoring with a short range dart on Crosfields 1st attacking set but Woolston replied immediately with what was to prove their only score of the 1st Quarter. A run and lovely off load from Josh gave Spencer the chance to go over to put the soap back in the lead. Josh then used his strength to go over from short range to give Crosfields a 1-3 lead after ten minutes after Regan had made great yards with a dazzling run.

2nd Quarter
Allistair opened the scoring in the second quarter with a long powerful run leaving the Woolston defenders in his wake. Spencer then went on a mazy long run to bag his second try in style. Woolston got their only try of this quarter before Spencer weaved his way through the Woolston defence again to go over for his hatrick try. Crosfields lead 2-6 at half time.

3rd Quarter
Finn opened the scoring for the 3rd Quarter following a great offload from Nathan which followed a barn storming run from Sam to put Crosfields near the try line. Finn then powered over to grab his hatrick try before Robbie T showed drive and determination to go over from close range.
Crosfields led 3-9 at the interval with Woolston again being restricted to one try in the quarter.

4th Quarter
Spencer scored his 4th with a mazy run finishing in style in the corner before Woolston got their customary solitary try of the quarter. Daniel pulled off one of the tackles of the game keeping Woolston out. Finn powered in to the corner for his 4th before Sam went from the half way line showing great strength with an unbelievable hand-off that (for want of better words) completely put the Woolston player on his arse.

Final score 4-12 to Crosfields.
