What an absolute belter of a morning of Junior rugby at Pilks. Crosfields Cobras u8s travelled light on numbers due to a late kickoff but WOW did the boys stand up. First, 10 minutes ended 2 V 1 to soap and the most exciting 20 minutes of Junior rugby followed with both sides going toe to toe but neither team able to get over the line. Over 50 tackles made by each side without either conceding. The young soap were tiring at the end of quarter 3 but pulled out all the stops. Pilks scored to level it up, followed by man of the match and hatrick scorer Ackerley putting the soap back in front, however, Pilks moved the ball really well to level the game and then went in again out wide to take the lead for the first time in the game. With the last set of the game, soap worked up field really well and on the last play of the game, Hammill somehow managed to burrow his way over to level the game.
Best on the day were Josh (MOM), Spencer (TT) and Alistair (coaches award) however those awards were so difficult to pick because the boys were excellent 1 and all.
