Miners Dig Deep to Hold out Vipers

The boys came off second best to a good Leigh Miners Team today, narrowly going down 12-13.

The Vipers started slowly but worked their way back into the game with block busting runs from Mills, Dowd, Allcock and Haughton.

Once in good field position Man of the Match Mitch Ireland pulled the strings scoring tries and supplying passes for others to cross the white wash.

With Luke Taylor causing problems with his pace and the introduction of Jaden Penny, Harvey Holt and Joe Harding the Vipers lifted and they looked to get back on par with Leigh but they couldn't quite bridge the gap.

Top tackler Henry Briscoe led with strong defence and a try in the last quarter.

However the highlight of a good team performance was the smile on Bobby Hill's face as he powered his way to the try line to claim his first Viper try to the rapturous applause from the on looking army of fans.
