An outstanding performance was had by both teams today, sheet grit and determination from every player. The first quarter St Cuthberts took the lead with some fantastic tries ending in their favour 3 tries to 2. Kian kept Cuthberts on their toes scoring 2 tries in the first quarter and Vipers demonstrated some excellent defensive efforts.

In the second quarter Kian scored a further 2 tries for Vipers shortly followed by tries from team mates Jake and Noah. Despite a real battle, Cuthberts maintained the lead 7 tries to 6.

Finally in the third quarter the Vipers boys stood side by and side and were defensively outstanding preventing Cuthberts from scoring by holding out each set of 6. Vipers were rewarded by some amazing offloads resulting in 3 more tries from Kian, Ryan and Max. Vipers went into the lead 9 tries to 7 with some breathtaking tackles and excellent team spirit.

The final quarter Cuthberts could not break through the awesome defence that Vipers presented resulting in a real tug of war. Vipers held Cuthberts out of every set and put a further 3 tries on them by Kian, Max and James. Wigan St Cuthberts did their coach proud with some really great runs, tries and a strong defence however, the final score resulted in 12 tries to 8 to Crosfields Vipers. A very tough but rewarding game enjoyed by players and spectators. A well earned Man of the Match went to Kian Fahey, Top Tackler Maximus Tetlow and Coaches award to James Mahoney. Crosfields Man of the Match for the opposition went to Logon Foster, well done everyone and thank you Wigan for the hospitality.
