Crosfields responded well and solid work in the pack from Lewis Bani and Jordan Thomason, set position for the backs to exploit. Quick hands from John Whitaker and Chris Hull, put Alex Clutterbuck in space. He drew the last defender to feed Ian Boden for a walk in.

In this end-to-end game, Salford hit back, when Burr went over for his second, following his own grubber and catching the Crosfields’ defence flat-footed. Ste Barry converted for a 10-4 lead.
