A young Crosfields side battled throughout, against the more experienced and much bigger East Leeds outfit, but ultimately went down 48-14.

Crosfields had a great start forcing a knock on deep into opposition territory. Strong runs by Ian Boden and Lewis Bani set position and quick hands saw Brad Stanway send Mitch McJay over for a try, which Stanway converted.

East Leeds hit straight back as Crosfields struggled to control the kick off and further tries took the home side into an 18-6 lead.

On the half hour mark, things took a turn for the worse for Crosfields, as Nathan Taylor was elbowed and knocked out. The touch judge reported the elbow to the referee, who inexplicably penalised Crosfields, then sent off Dave Boden for questioning the decision.
