Leigh Miners 10 vs 8 Crosfields
Crosfields were missing some key personnel for the game today Robbie T, Issac, L-Bomb and the irreplaceable Statto. I was left at the back of the convoy for the journey across the East Lancs, it seemed a lot quicker this week, must have been less traffic.
The boys once again made all the parents proud with a brave display in a narrow 10-8 defeat against Leigh Miners. These miners were not after extracting coal but the heads from the soaps shoulders. They were big, physical, aggressive and could certainly play.
Q1 started with some great D by both teams, with the soap narrowly trailing 2-1 with a try from Josh A. Q2 continued in the same vein however the scores were reversed, Finn scoring 2 great tries and also backing it up with some big tackles. HT and the scores were level with no inch being given, it was not a game for the faint hearted.
The Miners dug deep in Q3 striking gold and taking the game away from the soap, scoring 4 tries to 1. Josh A with the try.
Q4 was an entertaining 4-4, Josh A with 2 more and Nathan with a fine brace.
There was some great tackling performances from the soap, Finn, Spencer, both Josh's and Nath all hitting big numbers against the lobby gobblers. Sam was a powerhouse and not backing down in the battle, the rest of the team supported their mates well all over the pitch.
Losing is part of the game. If you learn from a loss you have not lost. Up the Soap!
