2 tries from Taylor Boyne along with 8 other try scorers and 9 Conversions from Ryan Connelly put Woolston to the sword.

In what was a hotly contested encounter, Soap dominated, went through a rough patch and then took control again to take the spoils and the bragging rights in this local derby in front of a decent-sized and very entertained crowd.

Andrew Campbell (Head Coach) had said in the week that he wanted his side to start fast and that's exactly what they did as Woolston gave away back to back penalties the Soap put on a sweeping play from right to left for center Taylor Boyne to go over out wide for his first score of the evening. Ryan Connelly added the extras.

A few minutes later a great carry and offload from Sam Hughes to Jack Williams saw Williams shimmy and step to turn the Woolston full-back inside out and bag himself a try. Again Connelly bagged the extras.

A period of indiscipline saw soap give away Back to back penalties and Woolston got their first score of a night with a wild ball thrown in hope overhead on the last tackle. The conversion was missed. More indiscipline saw Woolston pick up the next points too successfully converted and put themselves back in the game.

On the half-hour mark, Danny Lee picks up a quick play the ball from Tom Millington and races away before passing to Robson Boyne who wearing boots held together with a bandage found some pace last seen about 6 years ago and passed to the supporting Sam Hickey who rounded the full-back to take the Soap into a 16 v 10 lead. Conversion bagged by Ryan Connelly.

A comedy of errors sees soap knock on cold only for the Woolston prop to knock-on on the next play, Ben Kenwright got his boot to the ball and kicked through, the bounce was beautiful and over he went under the sticks. Connelly converted again.

To finish the half, Soap put on another sweeping move this time from left to right and finished the same as the previous move with opposite centre Josh Whitham going over out wide. Connelly missed the conversion. At half time, Soap lead 28 v 10.

The second half started in much the same way as the first with Alex Clutterbuck throwing 2 belting dummies and splitting the Woolston defence to stroll over for a try duly converted by Connelly.

From this point, Woolston got their tales up as they started running harder and the tackling was stronger and the soap had to stand up to a tough onslaught. Woolston scored 2 tries which were both converted to take the score to 34 v 22 and peg the soap back a little.

2 very dubious sin binning's first to Sam Hickey and then to Jack Williams seemed to spare Crosfields back to life as they wrestled back control of the game. Whilst down to 11 Aaron Holliday busts the Woolston line to race from halfway and score under the sticks converted again by Connelly.

Woolston's defence now tiring, Danny Lee busts the line and crosses the whitewash from 30 out converted by Connelly. Probably the try of the game was a short side jump from Jack Williams he drew the defender perfectly and hit centre Taylor Boyne with perfect timing for him to go through a gap you could have driven a bus through and touch down. Converted again by Connelly.

To finish off the scoring and the game, Ryan Connelly went over with a great show and go to cap a really good individual performance.

Some quality individual performances from Connelly, Millington and Boyne were just held out from winning the Man of the Match which went to Jack Williams. Next, up for Soap are Thatto Heath Crusaders who come to the Webb Security ground on Saturday 3rd August followed by a repeat of this game in the Warrington cup the following Wednesday.
