Crosfields Alliance side took on Roose Pioneers today with a much-changed side to that which has played over the last few weeks. On the day it just didn't quite click, the effort was there, the team worked hard but it just didn't come together.
To Roose's credit, they played the game very basic, ran hard, tackled hard and played some basic shape that got them results.
Jamie Harrison opened the score for the soap with his first try after a nice flowing move out the left however the conversion was missed. 4v 0
Only a few minutes later a loose ball was pounced on and a quick pass to Johnny Pennel saw him sprint in from 20 meters out. Danny Lee kicked the conversion. 10 v 0
Roose kicked into gear after going 2 behind and scored 2 converted tries themselves to take them in at the break 2 up 10 v 12.
Jamie Harrison got his brace early in the second half and these were to be the last points of the day for Soap. 14 v 12
Roose went on to score a further 3 tries and a single conversion to leave the final score as 10 v 26.
Soaps Alliance side are next in action on Tuesday night when they face Culcheth in the Final of the Warrington Cup at the Asics Stadium, Victoria Park. 7 pm Kick-Off.
